I absolutely LOVED working with Anna and her maids for her wedding which took place last weekend (24th Nov 2013) Ive also loved working on her gown, so much so, I really didn’t want to let it go!
Sometimes, you get to work on something that pushes your sewing ability and encompasses a multitude of techniques and skills.
Anna’s beautiful silk dupion and tulle gown was hand beaded (5 hours worth) had pleats, ruffles, flowers, feathers and motifs, an awful lot when you look at the brief on paper. However, I think you’ll agree that although this gown certainly had it all going on, the finished piece was a masterpiece, a walking work of art!
Anna was very specific with her brief. The bust detail was to be hand worked not imported motifs, so each bead and sequin was precisely stitched to the most beautiful corded lace.
Just enough lace-edge petticoat net gave the fishtail enough body to keep it in place and looking perfect when Anna moved. Each small rose was finished with a little central sparkle and feathers for added texture. The main area of the gown was hand pleated and completed with a lace-up corset closure.
Anna took advantage of our personal dressing service and along with the soft green chiffon gowns No.9 produced for her bridesmaids, each piece was gently steamed to perfection.
Anna’s No.9 bespoke lace edge veil was her crowning glory.
Floral art was supplied by KC Blooms- for floral bling
I think you’ll see, Anna’s smile says it all.
Huge congratulations to a spectacular bride.
